  • When carrying out tests on the road choose the place where there is no movement or probability of road accident, and be very careful during test not to have an accident.
  • On the road two persons, the driver and the tester, on the flat road have to carry out test.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Attach the scanning tool to the diagnostic socket at the switched-off ignition switch if is available. "Dump" a code of malfunction (DTC) and start the engine. Switch the lever of the choice of transfer of the automatic transmission to each situation L, 2, D, N, R and P, leaving in everyone for 30 seconds. Increase car speed to 70 km/h (45mil/h) in situation D. Keep this speed within 30 seconds. Release an accelerator pedal, reduce the speed of the car and stop the car. Check a code of malfunction (DTC) and/or the current code of malfunction (DTC).

Check work of an electrochain of the switch (sensor) of provision of transmission.

When the scanning SUZUKI tool is used:

At the switched-off switch of ignition attach the scanning SUZUKI tool to the diagnostic socket

Turn on the switch of ignition and check a signal of provision of transmission on the display (P, R, N, D, 2 or L), switching the switching lever to each situation

The relevant provision is highlighted?

When the scanning SUZUKI tool is not used:

Turn on the ignition switch.

Check tension on contacts of C 51-1-15, C 51-1-16, C 51-1-17, C 51-1-18, C 51-1-27 and C 51-1-28 for G16/J20 engines respectively, switching the lever to each situation

Take for an example contacts of C 51-1-28 for G16/J20 and look whether battery tension only is highlighted when the lever of switching of transfer is switched to situation "2", and in other provisions voltage of 0 Volts?

Similarly, being guided by the drawing, check tension on other contacts

Results of check are satisfactory?

Start the engine and turn on the switch of interruption of the raising transfer. Switch the lever of the choice of transfer to situation D and start. Keep car speed at the level of more than 10 km/h (7 miles/h) with the 1st transfer in situation D for 2 seconds or more. Increase the speed of the car and keep it at the level of more than 20 km/h (13 miles/h) with the 2nd transfer in situation D for 2 seconds or more. Increase the speed of the car and keep it at the level of more than 30 km/h (20 miles/h) with the 3rd transfer in situation D for 2 seconds or more. Stop the car. Check a code of malfunction (DTC) and/or the current code of malfunction (DTC).

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Attach the scanning tool to the diagnostic socket at the switched-off ignition switch. By means of the scanning tool "dump" the code of malfunction (DTC), the current code of malfunction and this framework of freezing which are stored in memory of an electronic control unit and check that indications of the counter of level of fuel were not less than 1/4. Start the engine, warm it up to the normal working temperature and switch the lever of transfer to situation "2H" or "4H". Increase car speed in situation "D" and be convinced that the provision of transfer changes with the 1st on the 2nd, and continue to move with a speed of 20 miles/h (30 km/h) on the 2nd transfer in situation "D" within 10 seconds (the valve of a throttle has to be not in single situation, and the gleam has to remain constant at this stage). Continue to move with a speed of 80 km/h (50 miles/h) on the 4th transfer in situation "D" within 10 seconds. Release an accelerator pedal, reduce the speed of the car and stop the car. Check a code of malfunction (DTC) and/or the current code of malfunction (DTC) by means of the scanning tool.

At the movement on speeds above stated and with big, than it is specified, a throttle gleam, the following conditions are satisfactory for the specified time

* The car speed determined by the car speed sensor is 10 km/h more, than the speed determined by the speed sensor at the exit of the automatic transmission (the logician of definition on 2 motion cycles)

* Lower switch of the four-wheel drive or its electrical circuitry

Procedure of confirmation of a code of malfunction (DTC)

  • When carrying out tests on the road choose the place where there is no movement or probability of road accident, and be very careful during test not to have an accident.
  • On the road two persons, the driver and the tester, on the flat road have to carry out test.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Attach the scanning tool to the diagnostic socket at the switched-off ignition switch. By means of the scanning tool "dump" the code of malfunction (DTC), the current code of malfunction and this framework of freezing which are stored in memory of an electronic control unit. Start the engine. Increase car speed approximately to 30 km/h (19 miles/h) or more in situation "D" and "2H". Continue to move with the above-stated speed within 30 seconds. Stop the car and switch the lever of transfer to situation 4L with the choice lever in situation P. Increase car speed to 25 km/h (15 miles/h) or more in situation D and 4 L. Continue to move with the above-stated speed within 30 seconds. Stop the car and check a code of malfunction (DTC) and the current code of malfunction (DTC) by means of the scanning tool.

Check of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive and its electrical circuitry:

By means of the scanning SUZUKI tool:

At the switched-off switch of ignition attach the scanning SUZUKI tool to the diagnostic socket

Turn on the ignition switch.

On the scanning tool choose the List of Data mode

Check on the display a signal of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive (INCL. or OFF) when switching transfer to each situation

Situation 4H or 2H: OFF.

Situation 4L: INCL.

Without the scanning SUZUKI tool:

Uncover an electronic control unit (RSM)

Turn on the ignition switch

Check tension on contact of C 51-1-26 for G16/J20 of the socket of the electronic control unit which is becoming isolated when switching the lever of transfer to each situation

Situation 4H or 2H: 10-14 Volts

Situation 4L: 0-1 Volt

Tension is such how it is specified?

Check quality of connection on contact of an electronic control unit if in a step 2 the voltmeter is used

If connection as it should be, problem of intermittence of a chain or faulty electronic control unit. Check for intermittence as it is described in the Head the General information in the Section Interrupted or weak connection

Check of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive:

Check operation of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive as below in the subsection Check of the Lower Switch of the Four-wheel Drive is described

Results of check are satisfactory?

Short circuit or rupture of a chain of "Or/W" or "B". If wires and sockets as it should be, replace with a serviceable electronic control unit and recheck

Replace the lower switch of the four-wheel drive

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Disconnect "minus" a battery cable. Disconnect a hitch of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive. Check connection between contacts of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive. There has to be a contact when switching the lever of transfer to situation 4L, and a besstupenchatost – when switching the lever of transfer to situation 4H or 2H. If there is no it, replace the lower switch of the four-wheel drive. Connect a hitch of the lower switch of the four-wheel drive and "minus" a battery cable.
