Test in a garage

This test checks the general operation of the automatic transmission and engine by means of measurement of bench speed in situation "D" and "R". When carrying out this test be convinced that liquid of the automatic transmission has normal working temperature, and its level is between the marks "Full" and "Low".

  • You do not hold the engine at a bench speed continuously more than 5 seconds as liquid can heat up very strongly.
  • Having executed bench test, let's the engine work idling not less than 30 seconds before the following bench test.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Put the car on the parking brake and block wheels.
    Establish a tachometer. Start the engine, having switched the lever of transfer to situation "P". Press a brake pedal to the full. Switch the lever of transfer to situation "D" and press a pedal of "gas" to the full, looking at the same time at a tachometer. When the speed of the engine (rpm) becomes a constant (bench speed), quickly remember its value. Release a pedal of "gas" right after check of bench speed. Similarly check bench speed in situation "R". Bench speed has to be within the following borders:
    Bench speed:
      2,100 – 2,400 rpm for the G16 engine 2,300 – 2,600 rpm for the J20 engine

Results of check

Possible reason

Level is lower than standard

* Inadequate effective power of the engine

* Faulty hydrotransformer

Level is higher standard in situation "D"

* Coupling of the raising transfer slides off

* Forward coupling slides off

* The faulty coupling of a free wheeling of the raising transfer

* Faulty coupling free course No. 2

* Low linear pressure

Level is higher standard in situation "R"

* direct coupling slides off

* The backing brake slides off

* Low pressure of liquid

* Coupling of the raising transfer slides off

* The faulty coupling of a free wheeling of the raising transfer
