Check of a brake boot

Inspection should be performed in the following points after the course of the brake with lever is checked (a gap between a pedal and a bituminous leaf) as it is described in the "Check of the Excess Course of a Pedal" point in this section even if it exceeds 115 mm (4.53 inches). Degree of wear of a brake shoe can be checked as follows.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Raise the vehicle. Remove a rubber cap (1) from a board of a drum brake. Through an opening in a board visually check thickness of a block of a brake slip (2). If thickness of an overlay of "f" is less, than the specified wear limit, replace brake shoes with new. Thickness of the back f brake shoe: a wear limit — 1.0 mm (0.04 inches).
1 — a rubber cap
2 — a brake slip
3 — a rim of a brake shoe
