Disconnect "minus" (–) a cable from the battery.
Place a wooden plate (1) between the engine (2) or an inlet collector (3) and a partition between salon and a compartment of the engine (4) so that it served as a stopper when the engine, the transmission and transfer hang when a back fixing part is removed.

|
Do not forget to use a wooden plate not to allow possible contact between a partition of salon and a compartment of the engine and the SMR sensor case (position of the camshaft) (at the G16 engine), the SMR sensor (position of the camshaft) (at the J20 engine). |

On the elevator

Merge transfer oil as it is described in this Chapter, in the Section Oil of the Transfer Case.
Remove forward and back driveshafts as it is described in the Head Driveshafts, in the Section Driveshaft.
Disconnect an exhaust pipe No. 5 as it is described in the Head Sistema of release, in the Section Components.
Disconnect a speed sensor fitting.

Put a jack under the transmission (1) and remove a back fixing part of the engine (2).
|
Gradually lower a jack (1) and check that the wooden plate served as a stopper between the engine or an inlet collector and a partition of salon and a compartment of the engine.
|
|
Remove bolts (4) cases of the lever of switching of gear wheels (3).
|
Extend a hose of a sapun.
|
|
In salon
Remove the case of the lever of switching of gear wheels, and then remove a bolt (1) of the back case of transfer.
On the elevator
|
|
|
|
Remove transfer fixture (back fixture of the engine) (1), having removed bolts (2).
|
|
|
Put a jack under the transmission (2) to prop up it.
|
Remove a fitting of a wire of switches 4 WD (four-wheel drives)/4WD - LOW (the four-wheel drive – lower).
Remove bolts of the forward case of transfer (1).
Having propped up transfer (2) by a jack (1), shift it back and when it separates from the transmission, lower it.
