Check of a steering column and top shaft of steering on existence of accident damages (at not a cabriolet)

At the cars which had an accident with damage of a body the steering column can be damaged or its provision is violated.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Check reliability of fastening of two capsules (1) to a fixing bracket of a steering column. Check a gap between capsules and a fixing bracket of a steering column. On both sides the gap has to make 0 mm (0 inches). If there is a gap or capsules are weakened, replace a steering column.

Measure distance of "a". If it less than the specified length, replace a column with new. Length of the steering column "a": 490.3 ± 1.0 mm (19.30 ± 0.04 inches).

Check a steering shaft for smoothness of rotation. If defects are found, replace a steering column. Check a steering shaft and a column for bends, cracks and deformations. If defects are found, replace a steering column.

Check the lower epiploon (1) of the top steering shaft for existence of deformations or breakages. If defect is found, replace.

Check couplings of a steering shaft and a shaft for existence of any damages (cracks, breaks, malfunctions or excessive mobility). At detection of defects replace the lower steering shaft or a steering column.

Measure distance of "b". If it less than the specified length, replace the top steering shaft with new. Length of the top steering shaft of "b": 419.0 ± 1.0 mm (16.50 ± 0.04 inches).
