General description

All fasteners of a steering wheel and steering column are very important as work of the main parts and systems depends on them, and/or they can affect repair price. In need of their replacement it is necessary to use only details with the same number or similar details. Never use suitable details of more poor quality for replacement. To provide good fastening of a detail at its replacement it is necessary to use the specified values of the moment of an inhaling.

In addition to standard steering functions this steering column of two-pipe type has three more important characteristics:

It absorbs energy and contracts in case of head-on collision. The switch of ignition and the lock are conveniently located on a column. The lock located on a column allows to block ignition and work of a steering wheel that protects the car from stealing.

To provide the power absorbing function of a steering column it is important to use only the specified bolts which should be tightened till the inhaling moment designated in the specification. When the column is removed from the car, with it it is necessary to handle extra care. Use of other, than the sharp blow to the end of a steering shaft is recommended in this instruction, a stripper of a steering wheel, or, falling of a column or pressure upon it can break off plastic pins which regulate situation and length of a column.
