Check of time of an advancing of ignition

Before start of the engine, transfer the transmission lever to "neutral" situation (in models from A / in the range of "P"), and install the parking brake. |

Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature.
Make sure that all electric loading besides ignition is disconnected.
Check and be convinced that the speed of idling meets the specification.
Determine ignition advancing time as follows [using the SUZUKI scanner].

Connect the SUZUKI scanner to DLC (1) at the switched-off ignition, again start the engine and determine ignition advancing time, using the mode of the fixed SUZUKI scanner spark. Special tool (A): SUZUKI scanner.

[Without using the SUZUKI scanner] (for the vehicle with the socket for the monitor): ground for check a conclusion of the switch (2) in diagnostics socket (white) (1) using an office wire to record ignition advancing time as initial.

Establish a stroboscope on a wire of high voltage for the cylinder No. 1.
Using a stroboscope, check and be convinced that time of an advancing meets the specification. A sight point - initial time of an advancing of ignition (check at the grounded switch conclusion): 5 ± 1 ° BTDC. Ignition order: 1-3-4-2. Special tool (A): 09930-76420.

If ignition time of an advancing does not meet the specification, carry out an inspection as follows. For the vehicle equipped with the resistor of an advancing of ignition (2).

If result of check unsatisfactory, replace the ignition resistor with consecutive number (3) on original to check, there corresponds initial time of an advancing of ignition of the specification.

Choose and check the resistor with the following consecutive number, the specified ignition advancing time will not be received yet. For example, if the served vehicle has the ignition resistor with number "5", initial time of an advancing of ignition can be changed, having replaced it on "4" or "N".

VSS
Installation of a pulley of a crankshaft/cover of a belt of the drive distributive mechanism
After check, leave the mode of the fixed giving of a spark of the SUZUKI Scanner or remove an office wire from diagnostics socket.

Driving at the grounded conclusion of the switch can become the reason of damage of the catalyst. Surely disconnect an office wire after adjustment. |

In this state time of an advancing of ignition can vary in comparison with initial time of an advancing of ignition, but it is normal. |
During the operation of the engine idling (situation with the closed throttle and at a vehicle stop), check that ignition advancing time about BTDC 6 ° - 10 °. Also check that increase in speed of the engine accelerates ignition advancing time. If results of check are unsatisfactory above, check the entrance signals connected with system of ignition.
