General description

Engine

For the cars equipped with additional restrictive system (pneumopillow):

  • Service of components or wires of system of a pneumopillow and around them has to be carried out only by the authorized dealer of Suzuki. Non-compliance with precautionary measures can lead to inadvertent activation of the system or bring system to a non-working state. Therefore there can be serious damages.
  • Maintenance has to begin not earlier than in 90 seconds after switching off of the ignition key and disconnection of a negative cable from the accumulator. Otherwise, the system can be activated due to reserve energy in the touch and diagnostic module (SDM).

The engine represents the four-cylinder, four-cycle petrol unit of water cooling equipped with the valvate drive with the double top camshaft, intended for the V-shaped configuration of valves and with 16 valves (4 valves on one cylinder).

The double top camshaft is installed from above cylinder heads: it is set in motion by the crankshaft by means of synchronization chains, and in system of the drive of the valve there are no pusher rods.
