The top shaft of steering (at not a cabriolet)
Never turn a steering wheel at the removed top shaft of steering. If it occurs, and centering of a contact winding will be broken (on understeering switches), it is necessary to align it again. Besides, if to turn a steering wheel more, than on two and a half turns, the contact winding will break. |
Removal
Turn a steering wheel so that forward wheels of the car looked directly forward.
Turn the ignition switch in the provision of "LOCK" and take out a key.
Make the leveling tags (3) the coupling of a shaft (2) and on a shaft (from the top steering shaft) that then on them it is correct to establish a shaft.
Having unscrewed a bolt (4) from the top party of the coupling of a shaft (2) and having weakened a bolt (5) from the lower party of a shaft, pull the coupling of a shaft (2) towards the lower shaft (as shown shooters in the drawing).
Unscrew a bolt (1) and a nut (2) of the top coupling of the top steering shaft.
Unscrew fixing bolts (4 pieces) of the top steering shaft.
Remove the top steering shaft from the car.
Survey
Check serviceability of a shaft of steering as below in this Chapter in the Section Check of a steering column and top shaft of steering on existence of accident damages is described (at not a cabriolet).
Installation
Make sure that forward wheels and a steering wheel are in the situation corresponding to the rectilinear movement of the car.
Establish the top steering shaft on an epiploon insert. Tighten fixing bolts (1) of the top steering shaft to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Inhaling moment: fixing bolts of the top steering shaft — (a): 23 N • m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 pounds feet).
Put on the coupling of a steering shaft (1) the top shaft (2), having combined the tags (3) put before removal of a shaft.
Insert a shaft coupling bolt (the top party of a shaft) (2) into the coupling of a steering shaft (1). At first tighten a shaft coupling bolt (the top party of a shaft) (2) to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling, and then a shaft coupling bolt (the lower party of a shaft) (3) to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Inhaling moment: a bolt of the coupling of a steering shaft — (c): 25 N • m (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 pounds feet).
Combine a point of "A" of a steering column (1) with an opening for a bolt of "B" of the top coupling of the top steering shaft. Then connect the top coupling of the top steering shaft.
Take new a bolt (2) of the top coupling of the top steering shaft and a nut (1). Tighten a nut (1) of the top coupling of the top steering shaft to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Inhaling moment: a nut of the top coupling of the top steering shaft — (a): 23 N • m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 pounds feet).
