Hydraulic pressure in the GUR system
 Check of pressure
|
 |

After careful cleaning of connection of a hose of high pressure with the pump of the hydraulic booster, disconnect a hose from the pump and install the special equipment (the oil pressure sensor, connecting branch pipes). Shade each nut with the corresponding moment of an inhaling.
 Special tool:
 (A) — 09915-77411 (the oil pressure sensor)
  (B) — 09915-77420

|
 |
Be accurate, do not damage a conditioner radiator during performance of service works (if it is equipped). |

Check each connection for leak of liquid and distil air. See the Procedure of a razvozdushivaniye of system in this Chapter.

 2 — a connector 3 — laying 4 — a connecting bolt 5 — a sleeve of high pressure 6 — a sleeve of low pressure |

 |
1 — a tank for power steering liquid 5 — a sleeve of high pressure 6 — a sleeve of low pressure |

|
 |
At the idling engine, rotate a wheel for warming up of the engine until temperature in a tank of the hydraulic booster reaches 50 – 60 °C (122 - 140 °F).

 |

Check the return pressure, measuring hydraulic pressure idling, without impact on a steering wheel. Return pressure: below, than 1000 kPa (10 kg/cm2, 142 psi).
If the return pressure is higher than the specified values, check the adjusting valve and hydraulic tubes for blockages.

1 — a tank for power steering liquid 2 — the valve of the manometer (is open) 3 — the pump of the hydraulic booster 4 — a steering rack 5 — a sleeve of high pressure 6 — a sleeve of low pressure |

 Check unloading pressure.
Increase engine turns up to 1500 min.-1. Gradually close the valve, watching increase in pressure on the manometer and estimate the unloading pressure (the maximum hydraulic pressure).
 Unloading pressure:
  6200 – 7000 kPa
  (62 – 70 kg/cm2, 882 – 995 psi) — for the G16 engine
  6700 – 7500 kPa
  (67 – 75 kg/cm2, 953 – 1067 psi) — for the J20 engine
  7050 – 7850 kPa

If pressure stated above, then malfunction of the backpressure valve is possible.
If pressure provided below, then malfunction of the pump of the hydraulic booster or jamming of a spring of the backpressure valve is possible.

|
 |
Do not block the manometer valve longer than for 10 seconds. |

1 — a tank for power steering liquid 2 — the valve of the manometer (is closed) 3 — the oil pressure sensor 4 — the pump of the hydraulic booster 5 — a steering rack |

Then open the manometer valve completely and increase turns up to 1500 min.-1. Then completely turn out a wheel to the left or to the right and estimate unloading pressure.
 Unloading pressure:
 6200 – 7000 kPa.

If pressure provided below, then malfunction of a steering rack is possible. Replace a steering rack.

|
 |
Never detain a steering wheel in extreme situation more than for 10 seconds. |
