Support of a brake of a forward disk

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Lift the vehicle and remove a wheel. Remove an assembly bolt of a flexible hose of a brake (3) from a support (1). As at the same time liquid can flow out from a hose (2), prepare and you hold near at hand (5).

    Remove bolts of a pin of a support or bolts of a pin of a sled of a support.
    Remove a support.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Before analysis, clear everything around a support of brake fluid. Remove sound-absorbing laying (if the car is equipped with it) and give compressed air to the cylinder through an opening for a bolt where the flexible hose fastened. With such pressure of air pressure, the piston can be pushed out from the cylinder.

Do not give too strongly compressed air which can force the piston to jump out of the cylinder. It should be taken out, using moderately compressed air. Do not undertake fingers a forward part of the piston when you use compressed air.

    Remove consolidation of the piston, using a thin edge, for example, the probe, etc.

Be careful not to damage an internal part of the cylinder.

Survey

Cylinder boot

Check whether there are no damages, cracks in a boot. If the boot is faulty, replace it.

Consolidation of the piston

Excessive or uneven wear of an overlay of a block can demonstrate not smooth reverse motion of the piston. In this case replace rubber consolidation.

Assembly

Collect a forward brake as it should be, the return to analysis, pay attention to the following.

  • Wash out each part absolutely before placing it in the same liquid that is used in a tank of the main cylinder.
  • Never use other liquids or a thinner.
  • Before installation of the piston and consolidation of the piston in the cylinder, fill them with liquid.
  • After assembly of brake highways, pit from them air.

Consolidation of the piston

Consolidation of the piston is used for consolidation of the piston and the cylinder and adjustment of a gap between a block and a disk. At each partition change consolidations for new. Establish consolidation of the piston in a cylinder groove carefully not to bend it.

Piston and boot

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Before an insert of the piston (2) in the cylinder, install a boot (1) on the piston.
    Install a boot as in item 1, in a boot groove in the cylinder, holding it fingers. Check and be convinced that the boot completely rose in a groove in the cylinder on all circle.
    Insert the piston into the cylinder hands and install a boot in a boot groove in the piston.
    To be convinced that the boot rose in a cylinder groove properly, extend the piston from the cylinder a little, but do not take out completely.

    Establish the soundproofing laying if the car is equipped with it.

Support

Before installation of a support (the cylinder case) in the holder, check and be convinced that the pin of a sled or a bolt of a pin of a sled inserted in the holder of each support can smoothly in the direction of axial loading.

If temperature falls to cold weather to -30 °C, use rubber lubricant which viscosity changes even at -40 °C (-40 °F) a little.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Establish a support in the holder of a support. Torque of an inhaling of bolts of a pin of a support (or bolts of a pin of a sled of a support) (1) has to correspond to specifications.
      Torque of an inhaling:
        support of a brake of "TOKIKO"
          bolt of a pin of a support (a), (b): 27 N • m (2.7 kg-m, 20.0 pounds feet)
        support of a brake of "SUMITOMO"
          bolt of a pin of a sled of a support (M 10) (a): 50 N • m (5.0 kg-m, 36.5 pounds feet) bolt of a pin of a sled of a support (M 12) (b): 85 N • m (8.5 kg-m, 61.5 pounds feet)

Make sure that boots reliably rose in a groove.


    Establish a flexible hose of a brake and tighten a bolt of a hose (1) with torque of an inhaling
    according to the specification. Torque of an inhaling: bolt of a flexible hose (b): 23 N • m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 pounds feet).
    The torque of an inhaling of wheel nuts has to meet the specification. Torque of an inhaling: wheel nut (c): 100 N • m (10.0 kg-m, 72.5 pounds feet).
    After completion of installation, fill a tank with brake fluid and pit air from the brake system. Execute check of work of a brake and check all established parts regarding oil leak.
