Power shaft

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Lift the car and remove a wheel.
1 — a stopper of a bulk opening/level of oil
2 — a forward drain stopper
    Remove a flange of a power shaft. Remove a lock ring of a power shaft and a persistent washer of a forward axis of a fist.

    Remove flange bolts and nuts of a power shaft.

    Remove a power shaft on the party of differential.

Not to break casings (from a wheel and from differential), be careful at removal of a power shaft that not to touch with casings other parts.

    Remove a persistent washer of a power shaft (at the car with the G16 or J20 engine) from a power shaft and remove an oil epiploon of a power shaft.

Be careful not to damage a power shaft.

    Lift the car and remove a wheel. Merge differential oil.

    Remove a flange of a power shaft Remove a lock ring of a power shaft and a persistent washer of a forward axis of a fist. Remove a fist and a nave of a wheel as it is described in the Head Podvesk, in the Section the Cylindrical spring (Removal).

    Remove a power shaft. To remove the springing lock ring established on a vent from differential (internal connection), from differential pull internally connection by means of the lever for tires.

Not to break casings (from a wheel and from differential), be careful at removal of a power shaft that not to touch with casings other parts.

    Remove a persistent washer of a power shaft (at the car with the G16 or J20 engine) from a power shaft and remove an oil epiploon of a power shaft, as shown in the drawing.

Be careful not to damage a power shaft.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Shoot the film of a casing from differential.
    Shift a casing to the center of a shaft and remove the springing lock ring from an external holder, then take out a shaft from an external holder.

    Remove a lock ring, and then the case. Remove internal and external casings from a shaft.

Do not investigate connection from a wheel (external connection). If in it any malfunction is found, replace it entirely.

Do not disassemble the spherical hinge from differential. If in the spherical hinge any malfunction is found, replace connection from differential.

Survey

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Check casings for damage or breakage. If necessary, replace. Check a cutting lock ring, the springing lock ring and tapes of a casing for deformations or breakage. If necessary, replace.

Cleaning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Degrease the sorted parts (except casings). After that completely dry up them the hair dryer. Piece of fabric clean casings. Do not wash casings in the degreasing solutions of type of gasoline or kerosene, etc. It will spoil a casing.

Assembly

  • To prevent emergence of any problems caused by the washing solutions do not wash casings of knots. Their degreasing is allowed by a fabric piece.
  • For ensuring the full designed functionality of knot observe distinctions of two types of lubricant which are included in the package for repair, and you apply the specified quantity on the corresponding knot, that is yellow lubricant – on knot from a wheel, and black – from differential.
  • Bend each tape of a casing in the direction opposite to rotation forward.
  • Attaching a casing tapes, do not squeeze and do not warp it. The casing deformed at compression will serve less.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Apply all lubricant on knot from a wheel. For this purpose use the lubricant tube which is included in the package of spare parts. "And": all lubricant of 85 g (3.0 ounces).
    Put on a shaft a casing from a wheel. Fill a casing cavity with lubricant (about 90 g). Before to record a tape of a casing, insert the screw-driver into a casing from knot that air got to a casing, and air pressure in a casing was leveled with atmospheric. Record a tape of a casing. Establish a casing on a power shaft so that its party with a small diameter was combined with a shaft flute, and record a casing a tape.

    Install the case on a shaft.

Install the case by the party of small external diameter for the end of a shaft.

    Establish a lock ring by means of pincers for the springing lock ring.

    Apply lubricant on all surface of the case. For this purpose use the lubricant tube which is included in the package of spare parts or lubricant for hubs (99000-25120).
    Insert the case into an external holder and fix a lock ring in a flute of an external holder.

Arrange a section of a lock ring of "a" so that it did not coincide with a ball.

    Apply lubricant in an external holder and put on a casing an external holder. Fill a casing cavity with lubricant for knots. "A": lubricant for hubs 99000-25120 (about 90 – 95g/3.2 – 3.4 ounces).
    At installation of a casing on an external holder, adjust it so that distances of "b" and "with" were such. "And" — Lubricant for filling of 90 - 95 g (3.2 - 3.4 ounces). Length of "b": 203.2 – 213.2 mm (8.00 – 8.40 inches).
    Before recording a tape of a casing, insert the screw-driver into a casing from knot that air got to a casing, and air pressure in a casing was leveled with atmospheric. Latch a tape of a casing. Check casings for dents and damages.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Establish a power shaft in the return to sequence removal, paying attention to the following: Clear an oil epiploon of a forward power shaft, and then apply lithium plastic lubricant on an oil epiploon and a shaft of the ball hinge with the axial shift of shaft (DOJ). "A": lubricant 99000-25010. Check an oil epiploon for breakage and damages. If necessary, replace.

    By means of a tube with an internal diameter of 76 mm (2.992 inches) or it is more and with an external diameter of 80 mm (3.150 inches) or insert an oil epiploon less until its end concerns a step surface of a power shaft.

    Put on a persistent washer of a power shaft (the car with the G16 or J20 engine).

    Right side (RH): a hand push knot from differential until its springing lock ring does not rise in a vent.

Left side (LH): connect flange bolts and nuts of a power shaft. Moment of an inhaling (a): 50 N • m (5.0 kg-m, 36.5 pounds feet).

    Apply lubricant on a persistent washer of a forward axis of a fist and a forward axis of a power shaft. "A": lubricant 99000-25010. At installation of a flange of a power shaft on a nave of a wheel apply sealant on the adjoining surface of a flange of a power shaft. "B": sealant 99000-31090. Inhaling moment: (b) — 50 N • m (5.0 kg-m, 36.5 pounds feet).
  • Not to break casings (from a wheel and from differential), be careful at installation of a power shaft that they did not touch other parts.
  • Do not pull the knot case from differential. If to pull the case, it can be disconnected from a shaft.
    Fill with the specified oil for differential the differential case to the specified level.
