Precautionary measures at service of electric chains

At a detachment and connection of sockets, surely switch off ignition, otherwise electronic components can be damaged.

Be accurate, do not concern contacts of the equipment using microcomputers (electronic control units, such as ECM, PCM, P/S the controller). Since static electricity of your body can damage these components.

Never connect a tester (the voltmeter, an ohmmeter or another) to an electronic control unit, at the switched-off socket. The attempt to make it can lead to its breakage.

Never connect an ohmmeter to an electronic control unit, with the connected socket. The attempt to make it can lead to damage of an electronic control unit and sensors.

Use only the specified measuring devices (voltmeter/ohmmeter). Otherwise exact measurements can be not reached or it can lead to injuries.

When carrying out measurements on sockets by means of a tester, insert the probe from wires (the back party) of the connector.

At connection of the probe of a multimeter from contacts of the socket in case of impossibility of connection from wires, be extremely accurate, do not bend socket pins by effort of a reciprocal part of the socket open for connection. In case of the socket given in the drawing below connect the probe, as shown, to avoid disconnection of contacts of the covering socket. Never connect the multimeter probe to the place, calling of a pin.

When checking sockets, check pins for a nezagnutost, and the covering socket on an open condition. Also check both parts for short circuit, disconnection, corrosion, dust, etc. Before voltage measurement on contacts check that tension of joint stock bank there were not lower than 11 Century. Check of tension on contacts at a low charge of joint stock bank results in wrong results of diagnostics.
