Lower shaft of steering
|
|
Never turn a steering wheel at the removed lower steering shaft. If a steering wheel to turn and bring down from the central situation the contact coil (on understeering switches), it should be aligned again. The turn of a steering wheel more, than on two and a half turns will break the contact coil. |
Removal
|
|
Turn a steering wheel so that forward wheels of the car were directed directly forward.
Turn the ignition switch in the provision of "LOCK" and take out a key.
Apply the leveling tags (3) on the coupling of a shaft (2) and a shaft (on the party of the top shaft or on the party of a column) that on them it is correct to establish into place.

Having removed a bolt (4) from the shaft coupling from the top shaft or a column and having weakened a bolt (5) from the lower shaft, pull the coupling of a shaft (2) towards the lower shaft (as shown shooters in the drawing below).

Apply the leveling tags on the lower coupling lower a shaft of an and a gear shaft that on them it is correct to establish.

Remove a bolt (2) of the lower coupling of the lower shaft, then remove the lower shaft.
|
Remove a shaft coupling bolt (from the lower shaft) from the shaft coupling, then remove the coupling of a shaft (3) from the lower shaft (1).
|
|
Installation
|
|
Make sure that forward wheels and a steering wheel are directed directly forward.
|
|
Combine a flat part of "A" of the lower shaft with an opening for a bolt of "B" of the coupling of a shaft (2). Then insert the shaft coupling into the lower shaft.
|
Install a shaft coupling bolt (from the lower shaft) on the shaft coupling. Tighten manually.
Insert a gear shaft into the lower coupling of the lower shaft (2) a vent (1) of the lower coupling, having combined tags (4) on gear to a shaft (5) and a case of the transmission (6).
Then install a bolt (3) of the lower coupling of the lower shaft on the lower coupling of the lower shaft (2). Tighten to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Inhaling moment: bolt of the lower coupling of the lower shaft (and): 25 N • m (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 pounds feet).

Install the coupling of a steering shaft (2) on a steering shaft, having combined the tags (3) put before removal.

Install a shaft coupling bolt (from the top shaft or a column) (2) on the coupling of a shaft (1). At first tighten a shaft coupling bolt (from a column) (3) to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling, and then a shaft coupling bolt (from the lower shaft) to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Inhaling moment: bolt of the coupling of a shaft (b): 25 N • m (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 pounds feet).
