Check of a chain on an open condition

Possible reasons of an open condition of a chain following:

Quite often the reason in the connector or contacts, they have to be in details checked.

Leaky connection in the connector Weak contact on the plug (because of dirt, corrosion or a rust, hit of foreign objects) Break in a plait of wires

When checking, chains including electronic control units, such as ECM, TCM, ABS, it is important to carry out a careful inspection, starting with points which easier to check.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect weight from the accumulator. Check each connector on both ends of the checked chain for weakening of connection. Also check a condition of fixing of the connectors equipped with a clamp.
1 check on existence of weak connections
2 the sensor
3 ECM
Using the test covered contact, check both contacts of the checked chain for pressing of contacts of the covering plug. Check visually each plug for the weakening of contacts (which is perhaps caused by pollution, corrosion, a rust, hit of foreign objects, etc.). Also check that contacts were densely latched in the connector.
1 check of tension in contacts by their connection and separation
By means of the procedures of consecutive check or check of voltage described on the following page check an electrical wiring for break and weak connection of plugs. Find exact location of anomaly if it exists.
1 the weakened sinking
2 a gap
3 a thin wire

Consecutive check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Measure resistance between contacts of the connector on both ends of the checked chain (between A-1 and S-1 in the drawing). If continuity was not defined (infinity or excess of a limit), then it means that the chain between the A-1 and S-1 plugs is opened.
Disconnect the connector which is switched on in a chain (the connector - In in the drawing) and measure resistance between the A-1 and V-1 plugs. If continuity was not defined, then it means that the chain between the V-1 and S-1 plugs is opened or there is an anomaly in the connector Century.

Check of tension

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

If in the checked chain food moves, check of tension can be used for check of a chain. With all attached connectors and tension given to the checked chain measure tension between each plug and grounding. If measurements were carried out, and results were as on the list below, then it means that the chain between the V-1 and A-1 plugs is opened.

Tension between:

S-1 and weight about 5 V
V-1 and weight about 5
In A-1 and weight 0 V
Also, if the measured values as on the list below, then it means that there is resistance (anomaly) at the level which is responsible for power failure in a chain between the A-1 and V-1 plugs.

Tension between:

S-1 and weight about 5 V
V-1 and weight about 5 V
A-1 and weight 3 V (power failure of 2 V)
